Recap of our stunning PhytoMAX®-2 600 growing in a standard 5’ x 5’ grow tent. These 12 Blue Dream Cannabis plants filled out the entire 25 square feet with ease. The P2 600 will outperform any traditional 1000 watt HPS while using 40% less electricity! It sounds like you are moving the right direction. Based on the information you gave there are a couple key points we would want to clarify.

First off, you don’t say what light the plants were under before putting the PhytoMAX-2 lights above it. This may not seem important but let’s assume they were under a HPS fixture. That light has a limited spectrum in that it does not have UV. Our light does, so changing from most light sources to a Black Dog LED light you will need to harden off the plant by putting the light further away from the plant than recommended and slowly lowering the light a few inches every couple days. The easiest is to start under our lights, then you can keep the light at the appropriate distance from the beginning, but we understand this is not always possible, so a gradual approach is recommended. It isn’t much different from acclimating an indoor plant from to sunlight.

If you have a square space it would be ideal to have a single larger light to cover the space. A good way to envision this is if you cut out a square piece of paper that was 4” x 4” then cut out two more paper squares that are 3” x 3”. The 4x4 represents your space and the other two represent the 3x3 maximum flowering footprint of these lights. You will find you cannot perfectly cover the larger 4x4 piece of paper with the two smaller ones. You will always have some corners that are not getting perfect coverage. In your case we would recommend putting the lights in diagonally, like you probably are, and then arranging the plants so the bulk of their mass is in the area getting the most light.

One other thing to clarify is that our recommendations on our site for maximum flower and veg footprints are not for autoflowers. Since you can run autoflowers on longer light schedules, you can theoretically flower larger spaces than we state on our site for our lights. With this you would have to test it yourself but based on longer light schedules than 12 hours in flower and a 4x4 space, two of the PM2-200 should do very well.

Your temps sounds spot on unless you are also running CO2 in which case you can bump it up to 31C.

We hope this all makes sense and answers your questions.

Are there any actual autos grown "officially" under the phytomax 2s? I know that for light to light comparisons clones are necessary but I think considering the context an auto journal on here would be good (for what it's worth I'm running 2x phytomax 2 800s).

Hello Growers. We closed out our PhytoMAX®-2 series with our smallest fixture, the PhytoMAX®-2 200. At only 210 watts, our PM2-200 dominated this 3’ x 3’ tent with ease to produce a grand total of 273 grams (9.63 oz.) of dried bud! Check out the full video on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/blackdogled. Happy growing!

    Hello Autoflower Growers,

We have received some interest from local customers about growing autoflower and would like to ask some questions of you autoflower experienced growers.

    • Where is the best place to purchase seeds, What strains have you personally had success with and would be good for an autoflower beginner?

    • Do you have any suggestions or tips for new autoflower growers that are experienced with flowering photoperiod sensitive Cannabis?

    • Any specific strains or things to try when growing autoflowers?

    • How do you handle pots? Do you start a seedling in a smaller pot and transplant up to larger pots?

    • Do you modify feeding schedules from standard Cannabis feeding schedules? When do you start feeding flower nutrients?

    • Do you flush, and if so for how long?

    • How do you plan on size requirements since you cannot control flowering cycle? Do you just plan on about 2 sq ft per plant?

    • Do you do anything to train or manage your canopy?

Thank you for everyone’s time and looking forward to suggestions and opinions!

I suggest @mephisto and also @FastBuds Both breeders are top notch and are both dedicated to the autoflower unlike other breeders. I find in fun to run both genetics just to see the differences.
I suggest to explain feeding autos just half what you would feed a photoperiod cannabis plant, Also autoflowing cannabis will require more cal mag.. we are not a 100% sure why, my guess is the rudy.
Most auto strains only have 10% to 14% rudy in their genetics but after back crossing to the photo mother not once but twice wile working for F generations you can stable a autoflower to be very very close to its photo mother . So its a growers choice for a sativa Dom auto or Afghan, sativa.
I never recommend transplanting autoflowers because of the root system. I recommenced planting in the pot they will finish in "unless breeding".. I use 5 gallon pots and i can get up to 7 dry oz off just 1 good autoflower in a short amount of time. about 75 days.
    I use
@TaNg feeding schedule and I think its a "very" good learning schedule that any new grower can build off of.. I start feeding my babies around 10 days or so after the roots have realy dug in the soil.
About Flushing I dont really believe you can realy flush a plant out but I quit feeding mine about 12 "water only" days or so before I chop. By doing this they use up whatever is left in the leaves and Thats what i call a flush by making the plant burn it all up. they get all sorts of color when I do this.
Plant size is kinda controlled by pot size but really its very important to read about your auto strain selection.. A good breeder like listed above will always tell the size of the stain.

    Here is a autoflower Forrest!!!
All about 41 days old total.. The was from last year.. the far right. IMO Blackdog LED are A perfect fit to grow Autoflowers!!!

Here’s a glimpse of our most recent time lapse video featuring our PhytoMAX®-2 600 as it flowers 2 different strains side-by-side in this 5’ x 5’ grow tent. We grew 6 plants of Super Lemon Haze and 6 plants of Purple Now & Later for a total yield of 709 grams, or about 1.56 lbs. Check out the full length video on our Youtube channel at Youtube.com/blackdogled.
