@Mañ'O'Green / @Tyler_Durden88 how do you start your plants in 6 inch cubes? I've tried and felt like the 6 inch cube was way too wet after pre soak. Do you let the cube sit a couple days? Thank you!
Yes you personal the rockwool as grodan specifies and then transplant and don't water for a few days sometimes several days depending on environment. That forces the roots to seek out water and get established in the hugo. I grow in coco and rockwool and rockwool holds onto alot of water. Even when you think it's dry it's really not. I keep a dry cube nearby to remind myself how light they are dry. And I'll be switching from the hugos to the paragos. They drain easier and are better suited for my setup.

I use A-Ok starter cubes 1.5 inch. Then I transplant into conditioned Hugos soaked in week 1 nutrients at 5.5 PH for 30 minutes. I put a teaspoon of Mykos in the hole of the Hugo moisten it with the nutrients transplant and then they do not get fertigated again until they are between 30% - 40% moisture content. This can take up to 9 days. Then they get fertigated to 20% run-off. Then they do not get fertigated again for 3 or 4 days until 30% - 40% moisture content. This process of fertigating and drying back continues until the plants are drinking down to 30% - 40% moisture content every day. Then they get fertigated every day.

I run a drip to waste system in rock wool cubes. My drippers are .5 GPH pressure compensating and run 8 times per light period two hours after lights on to two hours before lights out. The length of each drip time in minutes is 3,3,3,3,3,4,4,4. The goal is to achieve a 20% run-off of the total volume watered in one period. Around the 5th or 6th week the plants will use more water and the times get bumped to 4,4,4,4,4,5,5,5. for the rest of the grow. The idea is to water slowly to let the capillary action of the water wet the entire cube. If you fertigate too fast the nutrients will "Channel" through the cube and you lose root space that stays dry. When I cut the cubes open at the end of the grow the entire cube is full of roots.

Thanks very much for detailing this all out with clear pictures and precise drip schedules, it will be a huge help for myself and anyone who ends up in this thread when searching via google!

How big do your autoflowers get in 6 inch cubes? I'm slightly limited in space and wondering if 6 inch cubes will work for me. I have about 15 inch width and length and about 3.5 feet height to work with per plant. I'm guessing an auto in a 6 inch cube would be much bigger than that but I'm not sure...

Thanks again for going through all the details!

The biggest so far has been the Magic Strains Bubba Trouble an auto. They grew over 50 inches tall and 24" x 24" wide. Left two and center rear.

Very nice looking plant... Huge and healthy under some nice looking cobs...

I'm actually running a pretty small space. I'm going to run 4 plants in a 31x31x71 inch tent. I'm not sure if I will use perlite or rockwool yet.

I know with perlite I can use smaller potting to keep plants small, but not sure if a 6 inch cube will make even small autoflowers get big.

I have 4 inch cubes as well , but I'm not sure how that would work, or if the plants would tip over when they got big.

If you had to grow 4 plants in my small space would you use 4 inch cubes or hugos? If 4 inch would you support them somehow?

Thank you for continuing to help in this thread!

I actually have two support methods. 5.5 inch netting on a pvc pipe frame and/or just the pvc frame. The plants will easily topple when they get bigger they out weigh even a fully wet 6" cube. I think just a pipe frame is all you will need. They will hold each other up as it will be shoulder to shoulder in there with four plants.
