I started this method 5 days ago. Everyone seems to be having great loch with it, but now, 5 days in and my seeds haven't popped yet. I've been opening daily to allow air in and ensuring that the rapid rooters are moist. Same container as pictures and sitting on a wifi router. Am I doing something wrong?

I decided to open up the rapid rooter and check the seed. I swear I followed this guide to the letter, but after 5 days it doesn't have a taproot? 12 hours soaked. Squeezed out some water and left it moist. Checked daily to make sure rooter was moist. My other seed didn't open as much as the one pictured. I'm so lost. I have everything I need to produce except experience. This is my fourth failed germination out of 5 and I think the one that did germinate is stunted. Is my wifi router possibly too hot?Didn't germinate

No shit; never had an issue with Rapid Rooters. I do put them on a heating pad and dome them with a baggie to keep humidity up....

Welcome.
:Sharing One:

I have been asked by a few members what my germination method is.
So I have decided to post my process so it will be available to all to reference.
Let's get to it..

My method is using the following:
Root Riot cubes ( or Rapid Rooters)
Glad container
Wifi router ( cable or satellite box will work too)

I prefer to use Root Riot cubes or Rapid Rooters.

When seeds cost $5-15 I like to make them germ on the first shot.
A bag like this cost me an average $25us.

Next,
Choose your seeds.
For this demonstration I'll be using my Little Richard beans.
View attachment 357460

Now place a seed into the hole at the top of the rooter cube.
View attachment 357461

Once the seed is in, push it down approximately 1/2" (12mm)
It should be far enough in the cube as to not be seen.

Now take the cube and soak under some water.
View attachment 357462
Squeeze the cube so it soaks up the water.

You can tell it is soaked by the color of the cube.
When saturated it will be a very dark brown.
View attachment 357463

Now take the soaked cube and pace it into the container.
View attachment 357464

Make sure to label your beans!

Now seal the container.

Now it's off to the wifi germination station!
View attachment 357476

Now that your beans are on the wifi let them sit here in the sealed container for 12 hrs.

At the 12hr mark, open the container and squeeze the excess water from the cube.
View attachment 357477
Discard this extra fluid.
Now take the freshly squeezed cube and place back into the container and place back on the wifi.
(Note: Don't squeeze all the water out. Keep the cube moist, just not soaked. )
View attachment 357476
From here I will open the container once a day to allow fresh air in.
As well, I use this opening to make sure the cubes are still moist.

Each day open the container and re-moisten the cubes if necessary.
They will "sweat" out some of the moisture within the container.
Not a problem, I generally drip all the sweated water back onto the cubes.

Within a few days you should have sprouts.
View attachment 357480
Once the bean has sprouted I take it out of the container and place it into a tray filled with a bit of water.
Now that the cube is no longer in a sealed environment, you must prevent it from drying out.
That is where the tray or dish of water is essential.
I now take the tray and place it under a CFL desk lamp. (blue 6500k spectrum is what I use)
View attachment 357481
I leave the sprout under the light(light remains on 24 hours a day) until it has started to show it's first true leaves.
( I change the water out every day.)
Approximately 1-2 days.
View attachment 357482(note: these girls sprouted within 8 hours of each other.)
Once the sprout has stabilized and shown true leaves, I then pot it up.
View attachment 357483
The rest is up to nature! And us growers!

I have been using this process for years and have stellar germination rates.
Hopefully this will help someone to get a good and stress free start.

Thanks for checking out my germination guide.
Happy growing!
Very nice method bro! I tried using some easy start plugs but the germination rates were poor, will try out following your method! [emoji1303][emoji1303] cheers! Happy holidays!

Its a good idea to push a screwdriver right through the cube allowing the taproot to pass straight through and out the bottom, i plant the seed once its germinated also, squeezing the riot cube sooks in plenty oxygen, do not let the riot cube ever dry out, add supplements like root juice to them, when on a square tray put them at an angle so plenty oxygen gets down the sides of the cube

Propagation i swear by, perfect conditions in there me thinks

Tyrone special
I read this in prep for a hempy bucket im going to try. I like the way those grodan ao starter cubes look on paper as well. They recommend storing the moistened cube in a ziplock bag 1" from closed until sprout then gradually open the bag more everyday till you hit 4 leaves to acclimate the seedling to lower rh.
One question I do have is- do I presoak the cube in a light ppm solution if I'm going hydro? You guys use plain water and pot up to soil/less, does it make a difference in the first 10 days if I feed light?

As long as it is very light, no worries. Should be good to go. Best of luck.
