That is looking fantastic! You always manage your plants so well. I'm constantly impressed with how you catch issues and sort them out so quick.

Plants aside, how have you been?
Thanks for passing by and for the nice comment!
I've been ok, starting to get a little overwhelmed with the trimming that awaits with this Go-Go... I'm seriously thinking about getting a bowl trimmer!
How about you friend? How are you doing? What ever happened with your Sparkle Face plant?

Nosy bug aren't you?
Things are very well over here. Everyone's feeling good and been having a nice summer season.

I am also seriously considering a bowl trimmer myself. I know man o green has one he recommends. Always another gadget with this hobby!

Sparkle Face? Funny you should ask, I just took pictures as it's finally gotten a bit interesting... I'll tag you in just a couple minutes when I update... hahahaha, oh I am in for some pain.....

I chopped two GG autos about a month ago. Two tall plants, one 4 times the size of the other. There were over 20 colas in the canopy, one of them being in the picture below. That plant yielded 590 grams but, thanks to the bowl trimmer, trimming everything was not a significant issue. This is my first harvest of this size and I was surprised by how long it takes to get everything "processed". The bowl trimmer made it a lot easier to deal with. Well worth the $100± to me.

Thanks for the input! Will invest in a bowl trimmer soon.

@Delps8 how long did your GoGo's take? were they as long as mine is? and also... did you get the garlic pheno in any of the two plants?

Day 97

2.2 Gal pot, coco+pumice, handwatered twice a day, each watering with 550-570 ppm / 1.1-1.14 EC of MegaCrop 1 part V1 at 5.8-6.3 pH (mostly at 6.0 or more, but lately gave several at 5.8).

The bowl trimmer is a bit of a mind "you know what" (don't know if it's OK to drop the F-bomb here) - to drop in a whole bunch of weed, spin it around, spit is around the other way, and it's done. Loosely speaking, it becomes a non-event.

How long to chop? It was 117 days for the smaller plant and 119 days for the bigger one. In the pictures below, there is a plant on the left but it's been completely overwhelmed by the one on the right (it takes up 20%± of the frontage of the tent and had, interestingly enough, 20%± the yield). The "sidecar" light (a Viper Spectra VS 1500) illuminates two of Chris' branches that fell out of the tent. My two other grows (autos) also took a long time to flower and to get to harvest, and I suspect that part of that is because the reservoir holds 28 gallons of nutes so they plants can "grow fully" for each stage of growth - no science to that, granted. They were topped at days 22 and the first flower wasn't until day 48.

"garlic" - the herb doesn't have much of a "nose". I have no doubt that's due, somewhat, to my lack of experience and expertise in drying and curing but it wouldn't surprise me if it had something to do with yield. I say that because my last grow (Gelatos) was similar in that it had one monster plant that is a really mild smoke but the smaller plant, also on the left side of the res, yielded 161 gm and has some nice taste over tones (three cheers for Grove bags).

BTW, I watched a very interesting video today re. tent temperature. Based on Bugbee and Chandra, I was comfortable with my tent getting into the 80's. Those are great temps for yield but, according to the speaker, a PhD candidate at University of Utah, temps above 80° wreak havoc on cannabinoids.

Some of my notes from the video:

"Temperature - yield increased slightly. CBD and THC plummeted - "cut in half basically". We don't have a good explanation for this right now. We're going to ssee if we can reproduce this and see if we can come up with an explanation for what's going on." IIRC, that discussion is just over halfway through the video.

The video title "Does Hemp Need Extra Water and Fertilizer?"
URL -
The video is a few years old and the speaker opens saying that their research is for "legal cannabis" so their objective is to increased CBD while keeping THC <= 3% so as to comply with federal law re. research. I don't think that makes the results any less informative because he's relaying info about results of the plants and doesn't portray the results in terms of "low THC vs high THC".

This surprised me because Bugbee and Chandra focus so much on net photosynthesis, which equates to yield, where temps in the 80's are demonstrably optimal, yet, based on this video by someone who is one of Bugbee's researchers (I think he's tied into Bugbee) the news is that temps in the 80's will trash THC levels. Bugbee does not mention that in any of the many videos of his that I've watched. Food for thought, eh?

Day 103

Have found 3 buds with a couple of bananas. Note sure they were able to open before i plucked them.
Tallest top is getting a bit above 900 ppfd for a DLI of 58.50... not intended at all, but last time I checked it was at 40 DLI and I didn't think the tops had grown vertically that much since then! I dont monitor nor supplement CO2 so I think id better back up the light a bit. I think a big part of the deficiency symptoms seen at the top leaves are because of this.
Watering twice a day with 550 ppm / 1.1 EC (120 ppm from tap water, rest is MegaCrop). Didn't go above 6.0 with the pH this last week... the other part that I think contributed to the def symptoms plus the high intensity light up top.

Pics from today:

Wow, beautiful plant. Pretty close to done? Even if pollen got out I doubt there is enough time left for it to form seeds. Your plant just said "screw you, I'm doing the sex."

Thanks! I hope she is close, but there isn't a single amber trich on calyxes... so I assume at least a week or two more to go.
