  • We're looking for grower submissions for any autoflowers that they have had tested by a lab or using a home testing device. The idea is to create a grouping of tests that we can use a resource to show growers (both new and experienced) what kind of cannabinoids and terpenes some of the strains we're growing are testing out with!

Ok what's up AFN... I grew out a BLC and it was fabulous so I decided to go ahead and drop another. But last time I noticed her long legs asking to be trained to this Time we will be training the shit out of her. The last run I broke a plant so this time I'll be taking it a bit easier and hoping for the best. I have been swamped lately and really have lacked the effort in journals and I apologize. But if this goes to plan this will be one worth sharing. I want this to stand as a guide for anyone who is looking into training plants to increase yield or fit into tight spaces.

If your selecting a strain to LST I like to look for sativa dominant strain or like the BLC something from the XXL lines. This give you the proper stretch needed to get the branches trained into proper positions to make a full, even canopy and hopefully in the end a beautiful plant.

I skipped all the boring stuff. This is day 1 of training....

step 1 .... after your plant has at least 4 nodes. Go 1 node down from the top and slightly bend her over using a strap or metal rod. There IS A METHOD TO THIS. dont just bend your plant any way. Look at your bottom node. You want to make sure you bend so the the bottom 2 branches form a cross or T . Do not bend your plant over top of the bottom brances. Then take your bottom two branches on the first node and pull them slightly IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE MAIN. Be sure not to use anything that can cut into the plant like twine. I like to use the rim of my pots to anchor to. This works with cloth as well as plastic air pots.

Training is pretty much every day.... just a little at a time don't over do it and end up with a broken plant.... it WILL hurt your feelings. Trust me I know lol

Once the plant has at least 4 nodes I bend the main stem over. After bending the main stem I pull the lower branches in the opposite direction of the main stem to make room for the other colas to fill the middle area. Each time a branch shoots straight up I pull it outward to the rim spacing the evenly to allow new colas to fill the middle

DO NOT.... bend the main stalk using a leverage point above the top node on the newest growth... this growth usually isn't yet strong enough and will BREAK EASILY

Remember this will be a slow and steady process

More pics from daily training ... I'm hoping to document this training in detail so if anyone has questions or any new guys looking for tips send email here ...

Basically at this point were just putting straps on all of the colas that turn up and pulling them outwards towards the rim of the pot to provide spacing between them all for optimal light penetration and spacing got a uniform plant...

The main cola is bent slightly more each day never putting too much stress and causing a break

The main stalk was bent over for the last time today.... I have the canopy even now. Remember when bending the main stalk do not go up too high and bend from the top. Use a few nodes down from the top on the thicker stalk. You can move up as the plant grows.

I have been trimming a few leaves here and there to expose the lowers I want to form Colas later...

Here she is... it WILL be mostly positioning the Colas where I want them and leaf tucking from here. I will trim the lowers later though to hopefully concentrate all the bud formations up top instead of popcorn down low...

Ok here's the daily training update...

If you like LST and this doesn't get your blood pumping then something is wrong

The main cola strap was moved up 1 node and extra tension applied to the main. We have a nice even canopy now with the lowers beginning to stretch. It's our job to maintain this now

Ok most of the training is done. Just daily leaf tucking and minor adjustmemts.. during this point basically I sit eye level with the canopy. If 1 cola exceeds the others I just apply a little more pull with her strap and bring it back down to leven then let go....

She's drinking 1.5 liters a day @2ml/L base nutes and is switching to bloom next feed... time to watch the @Magic happen now
