Those of you who have followed my journal know that my preferred method of germinating seeds is in a hempy/perlite solo cup. This is how I germinated all my photo period plants and with great success. Now that said in a short amount of time I have learned that when dealing with autoflowering plant reducing stress is about the most important thing you can do to have a successful grow. So even though the process of transplanting a seedling from a perlite/hempy solo cup to it's final pot is in my opinion pretty safe I can see where there is a possibility of mild stress. I decided to see what I could do to prevent the stress and yet still germinate my auto seeds in the perlite and this is what I came up with. I dug a small hole about 2" deep and the width of a solo cup and filled it with perlite. I soaked the perlite with the same solution as those in the solo cups. I then planted the seed the same way I would in a solo cup of perlite. About 1/2" down laying on it's side. It is one of two that I planted yesterday that have a taproot today. When the seedling sprouts the root in a day or two will be through the perlite and into the soilless medium. At some point I'll cover the perlite with medium. I'm very happy that it is working so far and will probably start all my auto seeds in this fashion if this one takes off without a hitch.

Diary Update for today 4/26/21 for the Original OG Kush auto and the Quarter Pounder auto X Dark Devil auto

The OG Kush auto looks about the same.

The QPA X DDA does seem to be stretching vertically which pleases me. I fed both plant 30ml of Terpinator with their MC. I have 2.5 gallons of the stuff just laying around here so I thought heck give it a try.

You can tell you have experience, your plant looks good! not to bushy and the perfect LST
I have very limited experience training auto flowering plants. Keep in mind that plant is growing in a 15 gallon container so I do have some extra room to work.

I decided to build something that I've had in the back of my head for a month now. Finally had some free time and got it done. This is a 50' LED rope light pushing 65 watts of 3000k soft warm light.
GuoTonG 50ft/15m LED Lights Strip kit,Waterproof, 3000K Warm White,110V 2 Wire, Flexible, 900 Units SMD 2835 LEDs,UL

I had the tomato fencing already. The rope light with tax and shipping was just over $42.00 Not blinding by any means but I believe it will firm up the lower buds which will make them something I would trim as opposed to something I snip off and throw into the trim pile. First photo is with the overhead light on, second with just the light ring lit up.
