    Hey there everyone!!

First off let me start off by saying thanks for dropping by... What im about to get into is my current progress and along with some tips i have about growing so enjoy!!! Im gonna give a lil intro about myself to start. I have held jobs over the past that directly mixes into growing.. working with projectors and assessing light outputs and color spectrums and electronics down the the board level, even did some light plumbing working with highly pressurized pipes.. but after all of this experience i loved cannabis and took all of it and used it to create a cool idea of ideal grow space for myself... with that said I consider myself a bit of a noob at this although I have successfully gone through 3 grows since starting about a year and a half ago.. I started my last grow about 5 months ago but had to stop before my babies could get past the seedling stage due to the fact that I was debating on selling my house... since then, I not only ended up keeping my house but added a 10x12 shed to the back yard to keep this hobby alive!! between that time and now I havent been sitting around doing nothing.. ive been planning and calculating my next steps because before i get this going im gonna make sure this is done right and make it the best that i know that this could possibly be... I am starting this here and will eventually move it over to the grow journal side once i get this baby rockin.. but in order to get there.. im asking for some motivation so that i have the will to keep going... (i am now realizing that this is gonna require tons of manual labor)

Ok so thats outta the way lets get into it....

Got the shed built... it is a 10X12 tuff shed double level.. decided in order to keep the lights from blasting out everytime I open the doors... I framed off a grow room inside the shed... that measures out to being a 9x10x7 room.. and the second level i intend to use for my seedling station... I have dug the trench in order to run power from main breaker to sub panel located inside of shed... the sub panel has 6 slots in it which i plan to have:
    1 for lights
    1 for AC & dehumidifier
    1 for circulating pumps
    1 for fans
    1 for seedling station
    1 for auxilary power outlets

now i know at first glance it may seem like a bit much but my reasoning for this is because i want to be able to switch off any of these at any time.. thats about how much I have done... now on to what needs to be done..

what i need to do is install the power outlets and wire them all back to the sub panel.. after that i will connect sub panel to main circuit box and once verified that no circuit breaker pops i will then proceed to insulating the walls of grow space and finish it with some drywall on the inside.. i will then go ahead and line the inside of grow space with panda paper and seal room completely because in order to better control smell.. i am going to run co2 inside so that i can eliminate the need to bring fresh air in.. i will only ventilate air out.. and to keep that smell controlled i will make some bags out of the screen that you would normally use for your windows, and fill them with those ONA gel... if u havent heard of it check it out cuz its some good stuff but it is so strong that you cannot have it near your plants because it will destroy the smell of them because it doesnt mask the smell i eliminates it. so dropping a couple of homemade bags of them inside of your vent OUT should control the smell quite nicely. once all of this is completed i will then proceed to building the grow space itself.. i will install air conditioner and dehumidifier and grow lights... right now i have 2 1000w dimmable HPS lights but do not intend to use them but will use them if need be... what i want to do is go LED... not those single LEDs lights.. i will probably elect to building my own lights from kits i seen online because i want to have a custom light setup using COBs... and agian i will say that if you are not fimiliar with this please go check them out... they are definitely the way of the future in my opinion because they are just a bunch of LEDs on a single chip making them ridiculously bright (enough brightness to actually be too much light for plants so proceed with caution) I currently work for a LED sign company so I am pretty fimiliar with lighting that is the only reason i am electing to custom building my stuff.. ok i get it, your probably thinking damn.. that was tons of info but nothing yet about the system.... does this guy even know how to grow??? WELL now.. lets dive into that...

What I am planning to grow in is what i previously grew in before.. A DIY RDWC hydroponic system.. during my previous grows i had TONS and when i say TONS, i mean tons of hurdles to overcome... everything from leaking to not enough circulation.. I am very proud to say that i have sucessfully found the way to build it that crossed off all of those issues.. and though i am a bit bitter about all of the headache i went through to get here i am proud to say i overcame them.. I have been looking at some of these other hydro systems like man.. i remember my first time.. LOL... I am sorry but i cannot disclose the info about how i fixed it but i will post pics and let you figure it out for yourself... :smoking: basic info i will share.. i use totes... have 2 in custom bulkeads and use a 1000GPH inline pump for circulation... one thing that i will say to fellow hydro growers.... new or old... INLINE PUMP... thats the ONLY way it works.... i will also have a filter to filter out sediments so that i can prolong the life of my pump.... as for oxygenation... i will use a commercial air pump and plan to have 2 stones per tote and 4 in the resivouir.. eventually i will switch to the o2 grow system.. and once more check it out cuz that as well is a whole nother beast in itself.... for the growing medium... i will only use rockwool cubes... none of that hydroton or coco coir or perilite... none of that is needed for me because i designed my own holder for the cubes using a CAD program and will not need anthing else to hold it. ( debating on mass producing them but not sure if anyone would buy them, so if there is enough interest I will consider it.... or i might be willing to make a couple orders to ship them) i will cover the tops with blackout cloth that drape over the whole tote so that aboslutly no light will penetrate to the roots.. pumps will be on timers and for the moment i will add nutes manually.. BUT i will let you in on a lil secret... i am currently working on a project that will be a controller that auto reads PH and PPM and will be able to auto balance water PH and add nutes to set PPM and will be able to be adjusted from any device connected to the internet.. and yes that includes your phone... control the addition of nutrients down to the ML.. but again still in the works so will need some time to make sure it works and can be reliable.. for now just sticking to manual..

With all of this said.. once i can get my bare minimums met... i will begin growing and im sure as long as i can stay on this schedule and not deviate.. growing will not only be a breeze.. but i should yield some pretty damn beautiful ladies... in good quantities... and yes i am definitely aware that this is all "in theory".. but my plans are to have 2 seperate hydro systems so i can have something to do year round... :crying: ANYWAYS... you can obviously see that i obsessed on this for a while so thanks for dropping by and reading... i will drop some pics in a bit to show some of my progress.. cheers!! and happy growing everyone!!

Looks like a great space you have there. Nice job. Lots of interesting ideas too, I like where you’re going with all this.

My space is very simular, my biggest mistake was not insulating the floor, really wish I would have spray foamed it, there is very little space underneath making it impossible, it would keep bugs out and prevent condensation from the warm, humid air inside reacting with the colder floor..

hey everyone, took a lil time off to make some cash to get this thing off the ground. So after getting this new job and getting my schedule situated, I am now back and ready to get this thing off and running. So just a update, I finally finished trenching...... took me FOREVER because I was hard headed and did not want to shell out for a trencher and decided to go at it by hand.. and let me tell you something.... that was definitely a one time experience :crying:. Some words of wisdom, if you can, rent a trencher, it most definitely makes life easier. So trenched and ran conduit now waiting for my buddy who is a certified electrician to come and connect power (looking like it will be this weekend.) Had a bright idea to bring a water line out to the shed as well so at the last second I threw in a water line as well, tested and leak check passed so covered it up and is ready to go. Inside the shed, I wired up outlets how I previously planned it and placed the outlets in the exact spot where components will be placed. I am really happy how it turned out. Put up some insulation and threw in some insulation and silver bubble wrap. Hung one light to give it a little test.... and boy is it bright :smoking:. Started to design the floor plan and layout of the room. I decided to go with 2 separate 4 plant hydro systems. Thought the central air for my house was broken so I bought a free standing AC unit and about one week after the purchase my central air suddenly begins to work again, so instead of wasting time and effort returning it, I decided to throw it in the shed. So I have a 300 Sq Ft 10,000 BTU AC unit for about a 100 Sq Ft room... Thinkin this should be good in the terms of not having to work it so hard to keep room in specific temp ranges. Some of the items that still need to be picked up are:

    pond liner for floor
pvc and bulkhead fittings for hydro system
    2-4 air circulating fans
    1 inline pump
    carbon scrubber

Once I get a chance I will post some photos for you all. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey everyone, it has definitly been while since I have updated this thing. I just got a new job so my time has been really occupied lately. BUT I have definitely made some progress in what little free time I have. So here is where I stand...

Ran power out to room. And changed the breaker layout a bit. As I am running only 3 breakers right now.
1 for lights and air pumps
    1 for fans
1 for AC and carbon scrubber

Finished putting up all insulation and completly sealed room using duct tape and foil tape over that. I was able to cut hole for AC vent and just went for it running a water line when I ran power so I also have a water inside the room so now I dont have to wonder how I will get a ton of water out to there. I put together a mini system just to check for leaks. And with great satisfaction I can say I successfully built my own 2 inch bulkhead fitting. There were absolutly no leaks! :smoking: I have to wait until I get pond liner for the floor before I build both full systems inside room. And once systems are in I will install my drain system, I am thinking I will pump all of my excess water into a large catch container and repurpose the water (any ideas on how are greatly appreciated) because what I am thinking is using it to water my grass but im not sure if it will kill it. :crying: So thats it, I am so close yet so far.. gonna keep chugging along so that I can get this thing switched over to the growers section sooner than later.. sorry for the crappy photos I had to screenshot them from videos I made.. I spaced on taking actual photos lol. And in the one with the hydro system says it failed but come to find out I needed to add something as simple as teflon tape and it fixed the leaks instantly.. but thanks for stopping by. Peace!!!

image.jpg Looks good to me i use a 20lb tank cost mearound $45 to fill it but I have much more sq/ft than I grow in so it uses a fair amount. The controller with ppm settings is a must.
