T5/CFL only thread (the manual)

  • Well, we're still working on things and I imagine we'll see some bugs, some breaking, and things that need to get fixed. We'll start on the most critical things first and work our way down. We're still installing add-on's and squaring away some licensing stuff, but feel free to browse the board and we'll update everyone on when things are added, restored, or otherwise changed.

:smokebuds:when considering purchasing t5 ho what's the most imported thing to consider the fixture or the bulbs i need to buy a 8 bulb 4x2 fixture until GN release there new ms0006 so any input would be appreciated...

thanks
Both for sure and wattage to some degree. My first lght was a hydro farm agro grow. Nice price came with blue bulbs. I had wanted the bad boy lights just couldn't afford at the time. I went with quantum because of their reviews I had read. Not real scientific, but whatever. I havr ben impressed thus far.

I wasn't going to pipe in but now that you have ordered, I have the Sunblaze 8 bulb 4 foot and love it. I wound up buying the Bad Boy lamps for it later but the lamps that came with it are perfectly fine for vegging.

What I hear with auto's is thay finish the same regardless of 1 watt or 1000;It will just affect yield. They have a set life expectancy.

Could be true I guess. I'm fairly new at growing but have had a few good grows. 3.5z last grow. One plant, 1- 2x4 cfl T5HO. I added one T5 to each side and back. Later added two 42w pigtail. I'm about to buy two- 2'x4 bulb T5 HO. I will put one on each wall for a total of 15-2'x4'x4bulb T5. I will also use 1 85w CFL. Hoping for better and denser buds next go round. Not complaining about prior grows. Been working good for me!!

all T5s use the same tri phosphor mix and cover the spectrum from 400-640nm and are therefore "full spectrum" the difference is the ratio of blue to red light. 6500 more blue 2700/3000 more red. fill spectrum is just a marketing term to make a light sound better for plant growth and means nothing
